I’ve got two summer read-a-thons coming up, back to back. Both just so happen to coincide with the first week of school here, during which I always take a week off and do not teach lessons. I also have no gigs scheduled that week, no rehearsals or performances; only my Wednesday night/Sunday morning church piano obligation. That means I should have plenty of extra time to read a ton. Hooray!!!
The Dog Days of Summer Read-a-thon is hosted by the Estella Society and takes place for 48 hours beginning Saturday, August 17. Immediately after that begins the Bout of Books read-a-thon!
This read-a-thon is organized by Amanda/On a Book Bender and Kelly/Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins Monday, August 19 and runs through Sunday, August 25. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 8.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog.
