I have two pins of sight word discovery/sensory bottles on my Homeschool: Reading & Writing board, one by The Sugar Aunts and the other by Mom to 2 Posh Lil Divas (who gives a few play-based ideas for using the jars).
I used both pins as inspiration when making one for C. I added a few other sparkly and shiny things in this one, because I knew that would go over well. Sight words are still somewhat new to her, so I only used about half of the words on the Dolch Pre-Primer word list.
Anyhow, here it is! (Click the image for a larger view.)
This was very easy and fun to make! I cut random shapes out of foam sheets, wrote the words on them with a fine-tip permanent marker, and dumped them in a mason jar with white rice and, just for fun, some sequins, propeller beads, and the smallest of the glittery pom-poms. Shake it up and voilà!
