Sunday Salon: Reading Slump

Some of you may remember I was handling registrations and scheduling for a huge music contest in our area. That occurred last Saturday. We ended up having 528 students compete. Since I’m co-chair of the event, I was running around the venue from 7:30 am until 6:30 pm, helping to keep things running smoothly. Then at 6:30, just as I thought I couldn’t do one.more.thing, my spouse¬†called to say our daughter had swallowed a penny. Off to the ER we went, to make sure it actually went into her stomach, not aspirated (all is well, the ER doctor wasn’t worried). We finally got home at 10:30 that night, and I was so exhausted I didn’t bother with a Sunday Salon post last week. I just went to my church job, came home, and slept.

I think my brain just wanted to be turned off, because wow, have I been in a reading slump this week! The books I’m reading are very good (Clever Girl and No Book but the World) and I’m enjoying them, but I’ve just been a complete slacker.

I’m ready for a better reading week this week, though!
