Sunday Salon: A New Bookish Project

Setting // It’s 1:00 p.m. and I’m at home, kind of wanting to take a Sunday afternoon nap but also wanting to read.

Happenings // Bloggiesta is this week, which is always fun and productive. What I’m really excited about is a collaboration between me and four other lovely book bloggers in a new bookish project, The Socratic Salon. This site is going to be all about what happens in the comments section, and spoilers are encouraged! There’s a bit on our About page right now. We’ll have an intro post tomorrow. And Wednesday, come talk about Hausfrau!

Reading // I finished Girl in the Dark and Hausfrau. I also read Wonder by R.J. Palacio, which one of my students brought me. Now I’m reading Coffee, Tea, and Holy Water by Amanda Hudson. I’m not exactly sure what I’ll pick up after that. I have plenty of possibilities, though, as always!

  • SO excited for The Socratic Salon, and Hausfrau is a PERFECT choice to start.

    • Hey! Get off my page and figure out what to do with that fancy mic, lady! 😉
      (Really though, thanks!!!)

  • The Socratic Salon sounds wonderful! I regret that I have not read Hausfrau, but I’ll still be interested in the discussion. (I don’t really mind spoilers.)

  • The Socratic Salon is going be so great! Such an amazing idea, and I think will really fill a void in the book blogging world! I CAN”T WAIT FOR HAUSFRAU!!! 🙂

  • Ack, it’s going to be so tough not to check in on the Hausfrau talk on Wednesday! I’m nowhere near getting the book at my library… I guess I’ll just have to come back later.

Can’t wait to see how the project develops!

  • Can’t wait to start chatting about books! And I’m super excited to hear more about Girl in the Dark, too.

  • Congratulations on the new project – it sounds like such a great idea! I think I need to read Hausfrau soon …

  • Kelly TheWellReadRedhead

Woohoo! So excited to see what the Socratic Salon has in store!!

Is Socratic Salon going to have the option to follow by email?! I hope!!!

I haven’t read Haufrau, but I’m looking forward to checking out the discussion.

  • This is so exciting!!!! It’s such a great idea.
