Sunday Salon

Happenings // I know I’ve been scarce the last couple of weeks. I’ve been playing in the pit orchestra for 42nd Street (final performance is today) so between rehearsals and performances, homeschooling, and my teaching schedule, I never seemed to get around to the blog.

Celebrating // So many things to celebrate this week, but on a personal level: C’s birthday is today, she turns six!

Watching // We saw Inside Out this week. It was entertaining and fascinating. Definitely the type of kids movie that adults will enjoy, too.

Reading // I really liked the last two books I read: The Beautiful Bureaucrat by Helen Phillips and The Boy Who Played with Fusion by Tom Clynes. Now I’m reading Unbowed, a memoir by Wangari Maathai, winner of the 2004 Nobel Peace Prize. Loving it so far – she has a beautiful way of sharing her experiences.

Hope you all have a great week!

  • Happy Birthday to C! Six is such a great age. Every age has been my favorite so far, a trend I’m sure will come to end by the teenage years! What kinds of books is C interested in these days?

  • I hope your performances have gone well, Monika; what a great experience! Happy Birthday to C; I hope you all have some fun plans to celebrate. I’ve heard so many great things about Inside Out; I hope to see it soon, because I’m sure I would enjoy it…without kids – ha! Hope your week is off to a great start!

  • Happy birthday to C!
